Privacy Policy
Introduction
Iris is a personal AI assistant that connects to your Google Calendar, Gmail, and Maps to help you plan, prioritize, and protect your time. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we use your data.
Information We Collect
With your explicit permission, Iris accesses the following:
- Gmail: Metadata and content from recent emails to extract tone, prioritize replies, and recommend time-blocking.
- Google Calendar: Your event history, upcoming events, and free time slots to help reschedule or create meetings.
- Google Maps: Your home, work, and recent locations to personalize suggestions based on where you are or where you're going.
- Device Info: Device type, OS, and anonymous usage logs for debugging and performance tracking.
We do NOT:
- Access your contacts without consent
- Read your emails without purpose
- Sell or share your data with third parties
- Take actions without explicit user consent
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Suggest smarter calendar changes based on your patterns
- Draft and recommend emails
- Analyze your time allocation and suggest improvements
- Learn from your decisions to improve Iris' intelligence over time
All actions are shown transparently in the app - you're always in control.
Data Storage & Security
Iris does not store or process your data directly. All third-party integrations (such as Gmail, Calendar, and Maps) are facilitated via Composio, a SOC 2-certified platform that handles authentication and data access on behalf of Iris.
We do not currently store your personal data or ingest metadata into our own systems. Any data access is used in-session only, and never persisted beyond the active interaction.
- Authentication is securely handled via Google OAuth through Composio.
- Data retrieval and action execution (e.g. sending emails, creating events) occur through temporary authorized sessions.
- No user content (emails, calendar events, location data) is stored by Iris at this time.
- We do not train AI models on user data.
- We do not sell or share any user data with third parties.
As Iris evolves, we will continue to uphold strict data privacy practices and will update this policy accordingly before any changes to data handling.
Google API Disclosure
Iris uses Google APIs to access your Gmail, Calendar, and Maps data. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
User Control
You can:
- Revoke access at any time via the application and Google Account Permissions
- Request deletion of your data by emailing: team@textiris.com
We're building for transparency, control, and trust.
